DIY video game inspired room decor

10 DIY video game inspired decor ideas, video game room decor

One of the nice things about being an adult is getting to pay bills decorating your home in your style. Years ago I was boring. I kept things the way I thought an adult's home should look like. and it was nice - but it wasn't me. So slowly I started sneaking in items here and there that were "my thing."

Stuff like this:

And this:

My husband never said a word. My mother would point and ask why. My daughter would tell me it was embarrassing. Now if you can decorate your house AND embarrass your teenager at the same time - you have hit gold.

But while perusing the internet I found so many interesting video game decor items, that I decided to share a few of them here.

Wow - we were gone HOW LONG?

Wow. we just started this blog and then ... well ... stuff happened. Life went crazy, a toaster may or may not have blown up, and there was the usual stuff that usually plagues the common person.

But we are back!

In a few days we start anew! and our topic will be...

MAY THE 4TH BE WITH YOU!

What would a geeky blog be without a tribute to this Star Wars holiday? And what better way to celebrate than with some Star Wars themed food and drinks. Here are 10 of the most interesting inspired by the franchise.

Sarlacc Bundt Cake

This bundt cake is fairly simple, but the decorative center makes it hilarious (how often do we get to laugh at food?) and perfect for a Star Wars themed party.

Bento Lunches

Why should lunch be boring when it can be Star Wars themed? The three Bento lunches on this site will get you inspired.

Star Wars inspired Push-up Pops.

The bright colors and decoration of these small cakes immediately brings to mind your favorite Star Wars characters.

Ewok Sushi

These things are so darn cute, I don't think I could eat them. But they are perfect for your next Return of the Jedi themed party.

Rey's Portion of Bread

OK, let's face it, Rey's fast rising bread did not look like the most appetizing thing in the world. And she had to go through an awful lot to get it. Luckily this version is sweet and you don't have to forage for scrap parts to get it.

Bantha Cocoa

I have no idea what Bantha milk tastes like, but I am willing to bet that this Bantha Cocoa is absolutely delicious.

Light Saber Pretzels

What Padawan wouldn't want these wonderful light saber styled pretzels? They are so nicely done, they don't even look like pretzels.

Dark Side Martini

Get away from all of the Star Wars sweets and head to the dark side with this rum filled martini.

Jawa Vegan Cookie Cupcakes

I am pretty sure if I did made these, my Jawa would not turn out nearly as perfectly as this one, even with the cookie cutter they used.

Princess Leia Oreo Truffles

These cute desserts are popular on the internet for a reason. Who can resist something so darn cute?

So there you have it, 10 Star Wars inspired food and drinks for May the 4th. (And you didn't even have to eat a Porg!)

Just the beginning

That uncomfortable first post...
*Sigh*
Can we just skip this and pretend I've been writing an interesting blog all along?
One where I have already mentioned that Molly Pendragon is just my nom de blog and that I have been a fan of all things geek since I was quite young?
Where I have brilliantly shared all sorts of thing fantasy and sci fi.
Or where I hate when they always combine fanatasy and sci fi into one category even though I just did it?
Where I have already mentioned that I love video games even though I really suck at them?

No?

Well shoot...
